Slick Stick
I read about this product on a DIY blog and thought I'd give it a try. I thought the smooth glossy surface of my ugly formica would be a challenge, but with Slick Stick it was just another paint project. I followed the directions concerning dry time between coats and also allowed sufficient cure time. The product worked wonderfully in concert with chalk paint (which could be chipped off by itself when not using your product). I was able to transform the yucky "granite" formica into a cool soapstone. Nice. Because of
that success, I felt confident painting my dark brown, low grade, ultra smooth "wood" kitchen cabinets. I used the Slick Stick as the primer and Dixie Belle Chalk Paints for a two-tone look. Light gray lowers and soft white uppers. I added black matte bar pulls and found an area rug which mimicked the Moroccan stencil backsplash. A brand new kitchen! But I wouldn't have even started this project without Dixie Belle Slick Stick!
